“California Raid Uncovers Illegal Gun Cache in MAGA Activist’s Bunker”

National"California Raid Uncovers Illegal Gun Cache in MAGA Activist's Bunker"

Law enforcement officials in a northern California county were met with a surprising discovery while investigating a suspected illicit marijuana farm. Alongside the illegal cannabis operation, authorities uncovered a large cache of dangerous firearms and weaponry in Shasta County.

The search led to the unearthing of a hidden bunker and a 100-foot tunnel on the property owned by a Make America Great Again (MAGA) activist. Inside the concealed bunker, officers found an assortment of weapons, including a sawn-off shotgun, along with amenities like a gym, armchair, and television. A flag associated with Trump supporters from the January 6 riot was also displayed.

The significant collection of illicit firearms was deemed a severe threat to public safety. The discovery was made during a search at the residence of Michael Jay Kamfolt, a 40-year-old individual, by members of the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The operation revealed not only an illegal marijuana growth but also a secret bunker housing an alarming stockpile of illegal firearms and ammunition. The findings included three AR-15-style assault rifles, a sawn-off shotgun, and over 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

Kamfolt, a prominent conservative activist and supporter of Donald Trump, was taken into custody on January 20. He has been associated with election fraud concerns and is acquainted with Kevin Crye, a pro-Trump election denier and county supervisor.

Following Kamfolt’s arrest, Crye expressed shock in a Facebook video, emphasizing the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. The investigation was initiated after a tip-off in December, leading to a month-long probe before the search warrant was executed.

CHP officers confiscated 13 firearms, four body armor vests, and 30 high-capacity magazines during the operation. Two of the seized firearms had been reported stolen in the past, one dating back to 1978.

Kamfolt, currently released from custody, faces numerous charges related to illegal possession and misuse of firearms, including the conversion of a firearm into a machine gun and possession of stolen firearms and armor-penetrating ammunition.
