“Canada World Cup Defender Bombito to Undergo Surgery”

Sports"Canada World Cup Defender Bombito to Undergo Surgery"

Moise Bombito credited a discussion with Canadian national team coach Jesse Marsch for his decision. Despite his physical condition, the 26-year-old center back was determined not to miss the FIFA World Cup hosted in his home country. His club, Nice, revealed that Bombito would undergo surgery on his left tibia again due to ongoing pain, leading to the necessity of the procedure.

In an interview with Nice, Bombito revealed his commitment to representing his country at the World Cup despite his leg issues. Despite fracturing his tibia earlier, he managed to play for Canada in the summer tournament, participating in three matches. Despite his efforts, the defender admitted to struggling during the games due to his injury.

Although Canada Soccer did not comment immediately, Bombito expressed his disappointment at not performing at his best due to his persistent leg discomfort. He acknowledged the need for surgery to address the ongoing pain and ensure his full recovery. Bombito’s journey with Nice began in 2024 following his tenure with the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer, where he had an impactful first season before injury setbacks in the subsequent year.
