A teenage girl in Texas faced a terrifying ordeal when a man disguised as a FedEx employee showed up at her door, only to reveal himself as a murderer moments later. Cassidy Stay, aged 15, unknowingly encountered the killer, who used a duct-taped pillow as a makeshift silencer to carry out a brutal attack on her family.
The tragic incident took place on July 9, 2014, in Houston, when Cassidy’s aunt’s ex-husband, Ron Haskell, sought revenge. After initially inquiring about Cassidy’s parents’ whereabouts and leaving upon being told they were out, Haskell returned to the house and held Cassidy and her siblings at gunpoint.
As Cassidy tried to reason with Haskell and protect her family, he callously opened fire with a 9-mm handgun, fatally shooting her four siblings and parents, leaving her as the sole survivor despite sustaining a head injury.
In the aftermath, a memorial service was held for the Stay family, attended by over 400 people. During the service, Cassidy, recalling her love for “Harry Potter,” shared words of strength and hope, emphasizing that her family was in a better place.
