“International and U.S. Teams Finalized for Presidents Cup”

Sports"International and U.S. Teams Finalized for Presidents Cup"

International team captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected Corey Conners from Listowel, Ontario, and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, British Columbia, to join the upcoming Presidents Cup. Additionally, Ryo Hisatsune will be part of the team, marking the first instance since 1998 where the International team includes two Japanese players, alongside Hideki Matsuyama who secured one of the six automatic spots.

On the U.S. side, Jackson Koivun, who recently departed Auburn, has been added to the Presidents Cup team. Koivun, a standout who triumphed at the 3M Open in his early professional career and swiftly qualified for the PGA Tour postseason, is the first golfer since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to begin a year without a tour card and compete in the Presidents Cup.

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker also made the decision to include Jacob Bridgeman, a victor at Riviera this season, on the team. Notably, Snedeker opted not to select Ryan Gerard, ranked 22nd globally, despite Gerard’s strong performance at the Tour Championship where he finished third.

The Presidents Cup is scheduled for September 24-27 at Medinah, a course that has undergone a complete renovation by Ogilvy’s golf course design company based in Australia.
