Cinephiles excited for “Heated Rivalry” are in for a treat as the popular queer romance series will be hitting the big screen at Cineplex theatres in Canada and other countries. Cineplex has announced that all six episodes of the show will be shown in early November across various locations, including the U.S., the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.
Canadian fans have the opportunity to catch the entire first season in marathon screenings on November 8, or opt for double features on November 6, 10, and 11. The screenings will allow fans to relive the Canadian-made Crave/HBO series, with special events planned for fans to connect with the show’s content.
In the U.S., the screenings of all six episodes will commence on November 6 in over 650 theatres. Based on Rachel Reid’s novel, “Heated Rivalry” chronicles the competitive and romantic journey of hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
The announcement has generated mixed reactions among fans, with some expressing excitement about the cinematic experience while others raised concerns about ticket prices. The screenings also serve as a refresher for fans eagerly awaiting the second season, set to premiere in spring 2027. Additionally, series creator Jacob Tierney has released a book titled “I’ll Believe in Anything: The Making of Heated Rivalry,” providing insights into the show’s production process and script development.
