New images have emerged showcasing global support for Iranian protestors as they rally against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s oppressive regime. The Supreme Leader has violently suppressed dissent, with estimates suggesting that around 2,500 individuals have been killed amid demonstrations over economic hardships. Demonstrations in Iran have drawn solidarity from international allies advocating for an end to the government’s crackdown.
Photos depict demonstrations in various countries, including the UK, Korea, Israel, Germany, and Turkey, where individuals stand in solidarity with Iranian protestors seeking to overturn the authoritarian rule. Some protestors are shown burning images of the Ayatollah and donning the colors of Iran’s pre-revolution “Lion and Sun” flag, symbolizing opposition to the current regime.
Among the protestors, there are calls for the exiled crown prince, Reza Pahlavi, son of the last Shah of Iran, to lead a potential regime change. Protesters in different parts of the world, such as Romania, Germany, Paris, and Switzerland, have displayed support for Pahlavi’s potential leadership by holding up his pictures or burning images of Ayatollah Khamenei.
In solidarity, Shiite Muslims in Pakistan, Chilean residents in Santiago, protestors at the White House in Washington, and demonstrators in Seoul and London have gathered to show their support for the Iranian cause, urging for a change in leadership in Iran.
