Slovak PM Expresses Concerns Over Trump’s Mental State

NationalSlovak PM Expresses Concerns Over Trump's Mental State

Slovakia’s Prime Minister, a supporter of Donald Trump, reportedly shared with EU counterparts his surprise and concerns about the US president’s mental state after a recent meeting. Robert Fico, known for backing Trump’s criticisms of the EU, expressed worries about the psychological condition of the American leader during a gathering at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on January 17, as per information from two European diplomats.

Fico described Trump as “dangerous” during the meeting, which was discussed by diplomats at an informal meeting in Brussels on January 22 regarding Trump’s alleged interest in acquiring Greenland, according to Politico. The diplomats from various EU nations, briefed by their leaders present at the conversation, confirmed the concerns raised by Fico without knowing the specifics of his interaction with Trump.

Reports suggest that Fico appeared “traumatized” post the encounter, with claims from another diplomat stating that Fico labeled Trump as “out of his mind” during discussions in Brussels. In response, White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly dismissed the claims as “total fake news” from unnamed European diplomats, emphasizing the positive and productive nature of the Mar-a-Lago meeting as described by Fico.

The Mirror has reached out to representatives of Robert Fico for comments on the matter. Fico, a prominent Trump advocate within Europe, has previously commended the US president for his contributions to the continent. Despite reports from some EU officials expressing concerns over Trump’s unpredictability, a senior administration official present at Mar-a-Lago mentioned no uncomfortable moments during the meeting, which was described as cordial and normal.

In a video shared on his Facebook page, Fico praised the meeting as a sign of respect and trust from Trump, focusing their talks on various issues including Ukraine. Discussions surrounding Trump’s mental health have been circulating in European political circles, with an EU official highlighting growing worries about the president’s well-being becoming a prevalent topic of conversation.

While Trump has denied any cognitive impairment or health conditions like Alzheimer’s, stating so in an interview with New York Magazine, concerns about his health continue to be a subject of discussion among European leaders and officials.
