“Snapchat Date Turns Deadly: Woman Fakes Cancer to Murder”

National"Snapchat Date Turns Deadly: Woman Fakes Cancer to Murder"

A young woman who previously pretended to have cancer transformed into a ruthless murderer at the age of 20, with a bizarre motive for the crime. Sierra Inscoe, hailing from Prentiss, Mississippi, orchestrated a date with Carson Sistrunk from Rankin County through Snapchat in September 2022. Tragically, Carson never made it back home, as his body was discovered abandoned in an oilfield a few days later.

The disturbing incident was recently delved into by Adrian, the creator of the Coffeehouse Crime YouTube channel, who highlighted Sierra’s heartless nature and lack of morals based on her past actions. Sierra, now behind bars, will spend a significant portion of her life in prison. The case was featured on a Channel 4 program named Social Media Monsters.

Carson, a 24-year-old described as a gentle giant despite his imposing 6ft 4in stature, had been in contact with Sierra on Snapchat in the weeks leading up to his tragic demise. Prosecutor Laurel Blue Brinkley revealed that Sierra had ulterior motives, as she had been boasting about acquiring a truck by her birthday – a detail that caught Carson’s attention due to his own prized truck.

Despite Sierra’s deceitful past, Carson proceeded with the date as planned. However, when he failed to show up for work after the weekend, his concerned mother reported him missing. Authorities eventually traced his last whereabouts to a gas station in New Hebron, where Sierra was found with Carson’s truck and eventually linked to his murder.

After a series of lies and investigations, Carson’s body was discovered in an oilfield, revealing that he had been shot three times with a .9mm firearm. Sierra’s guilt was confirmed when CCTV footage depicted her in the victim’s truck, contradicting her earlier claims of not knowing him. Sierra later confessed to the crime, pleading guilty to murder in July 2024 and receiving a minimum 35-year prison sentence, with a projected release date in 2059.

The tragic encounter between Carson and Sierra, initially sparked by a seemingly innocent Snapchat interaction, serves as a cautionary tale. Prosecutor Lewis emphasized the importance of being cautious in today’s interconnected world, where trust can be easily misplaced.
