Superdrug has announced intentions to launch 30 new stores this year, generating approximately 600 job opportunities. Among the upcoming locations in England are White Rose Leeds, Crawley, Waterlooville Retail Park, Newport Retail Park, and Isle of Wight.
In addition to England, Superdrug will also be establishing new outlets in Scotland, including Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Kilmarnock Retail Park, East Kilbride, Strathkelvin Retail Park, Linwood Phoenix Retail Park, and Cwmbran Retail Park in Wales.
These new stores will feature Superdrug Beauty Studios offering various services like ear piercing, manicures, and eyebrow threading. The company also plans to refurbish 60 existing stores throughout the year. Currently, Superdrug operates over 780 stores in the UK and Ireland.
The decision to expand further is driven by the high demand from customers in their stores. Superdrug aims to focus on enhancing large-format destination stores and retail park locations. Clare Jennings, Superdrug’s property director, emphasized the commitment to providing expert services and trusted products in welcoming community spaces.
Moreover, M&S has outlined a list of 500 potential locations for new stores to grow its food business. The company is seeking larger sites to expand its Food stores and is on track to open or renew 20 stores by the end of the financial year, creating 800 new job positions. M&S aims to increase the size of its Food stores to offer a wider range of products and attract more customers for their weekly shopping needs.
