“Sky Launches HBO Max for UK Subscribers”

Tech"Sky Launches HBO Max for UK Subscribers"

Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as the latest streaming service, HBO Max, has launched in the country. Subscribers with the Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy HBO Max for free, which includes popular shows like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon, saving them over £50 annually.

Sky has confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, and Sky Q customers with specific packages will have access to HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service, already established in the USA, offers a vast library of HBO dramas, including favorites like Succession and The Wire, as well as new Max Originals like The Pitt and a variety of Warner Bros. films.

To start streaming HBO Max, Sky customers on the eligible plans can simply launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions. For those not on the Ultimate TV package, they can switch to it starting at £22 per month, which will increase to £24 from April 1st, and includes over 130 Sky channels along with Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.

Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the new offering, stating, “For the first time anywhere, we’re bringing Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu together in a single subscription. No one else offers this range of entertainment in such an integrated experience.” Additionally, NOW Entertainment customers will also have access to HBO Max at no extra cost through the NOW app.

For non-Sky subscribers interested in HBO Max, they can sign up directly on the HBO Max website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
