“Koepka Returns to PGA Tour, LIV Golf Faces Player Pressure”

Sports"Koepka Returns to PGA Tour, LIV Golf Faces Player Pressure"

Tommy Fleetwood expressed his support for Brooks Koepka’s comeback to the PGA Tour and mentioned that LIV Golf has not approached him during the postseason. Koepka recently left the Saudi-backed tour and will participate in the Farmers Insurance Open next week, marking his return to the PGA Tour.

The move by Koepka has put pressure on LIV Golf to retain other key players, with Patrick Reed hinting at a possible return as well. Fleetwood, currently ranked No.3 globally, praised the PGA Tour for its quality events and substantial prize money, emphasizing his gratitude for being able to compete there.

Fleetwood, who earned $10 million for winning his first PGA Tour event last year, has set his sights on winning a Major title. He emphasized the importance of aligning one’s goals and dreams with the place of competition, pointing out that players seek to excel where they believe they can achieve their aspirations.

LIV Golf, financed by the Public Investment Fund of Newcastle, made significant investments in previous seasons, including lucrative deals with Koepka and Jon Rahm. This year, their signings have been less high-profile, with new additions like Victor Perez, Laurie Canter, and others.

Despite rumors of interest, Fleetwood confirmed that LIV Golf has not approached him recently, acknowledging the trend of talented golfers joining the new league. Shane Lowry, Fleetwood’s Ryder Cup teammate, commended Koepka’s swift return to the PGA Tour and expressed his focus on playing his best in any tournament worldwide.

Lowry also reflected on a recent missed opportunity at the Dubai Invitational, revealing his determination to move past the disappointment.
