“Fitbit Unveils Screen-Free Air Wearable with Advanced Health Tracking”

Tech"Fitbit Unveils Screen-Free Air Wearable with Advanced Health Tracking"

Fitbit, a long-standing brand in the wearables industry, has introduced a new product called the Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air does not feature a screen, resembling popular Whoop bands that function as wrist accessories. While this design choice means sacrificing features like message reading and heart rate monitoring, it offers significant advantages.

The Fitbit Air boasts a more comfortable bracelet-style strap compared to traditional smartwatches, as confirmed by a recent Google study which rated it as the most comfortable option among top competitors. Additionally, it promises a week-long battery life and quick charging capability, providing a day’s worth of power in just five minutes. The device comes with a new magnetic charger featuring bi-directional technology for easy recharging without worrying about orientation.

Despite its sleek appearance, the Fitbit Air remains true to its core functionality. It tracks various health metrics such as sleep patterns, activity levels, exercise routines, heart rate, and can even detect conditions like AFib, notifying users of irregular heart rhythms. Internally, it houses sensors for heart rate monitoring, accelerometer, gyroscope, oxygen saturation, and temperature sensing.

Data collected by the Fitbit Air is seamlessly transferred to smartphones since it lacks a screen. Users can access a comprehensive health overview through the Google Health Coach app. The device is water-resistant up to 50 meters and will be offered in four color options: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender. When it hits the market, the Fitbit Air will be priced at £84.99.
