Sports"Canada Dominates 2026 FIBA 3x3 Women's Series, Clinches Second Title"

Canada finished the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series impressively by defeating Japan 20-10 in the final at the Takasaki event, securing their second championship of the season following their victory in Shanghai back in May. The top-seeded Canadian team displayed dominance throughout the competition, sweeping through Pool A and then securing victories over China with a score of 21-9 in the quarterfinals and Neftchi SOCAR with a score of 22-12 in the semifinals. Notably, Paige Crozon’s performance stood out with 11 points and eight rebounds against China, while Merissah Russell contributed eight points in the semifinal match.

In the final showdown, Canada took an early lead and maintained control until the end, ultimately claiming a decisive 20-10 win over Japan to clinch the Takasaki title. Russell was honored as the MVP of the Takasaki tournament for her exceptional player value (45.3) and 12 successful drives, placing second in total points (32) and highlights (17) during the event.

Despite their remarkable victory, Canada’s journey in the Women’s Series concludes without progressing to the Project Redwings Shanghai Final in September, marking a strong conclusion to their campaign.
