Despite her attempt to keep her outburst private, footage of Gauff destroying her racket surfaced online, prompting the young tennis star to question the invasion of players’ privacy at major tournaments when intimate moments are broadcasted without consent.
The video of Gauff venting her emotions by hitting her racket against the ground spread rapidly and was aired on television almost immediately. In response to the incident, the 21-year-old confessed, “Yeah, I tried to go somewhere where there was no cameras.”
