UpdatesEscaped Convict Captured in Greater Manchester

A convict who escaped from a correctional facility has been apprehended by law enforcement authorities, as confirmed by the police.

Kieran Cameron, aged 43, absconded from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington, situated between Liverpool and Manchester, on January 6. His imprisonment stemmed from a 23-year sentence following an attempted murder case in Dorset back in 2016.

Cheshire Police sought public assistance in locating Cameron, cautioning against direct contact with him. However, in a recent update, law enforcement declared his capture in the Hulme district of Greater Manchester. The police statement affirmed, “We are pleased to announce the arrest of the individual who fled HMP Thorn Cross.”

The apprehension of Kieran Cameron in Greater Manchester’s Hulme area was executed by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.

Cameron was convicted for a violent incident in February 2016, where he and an accomplice, Michael O’Rourke, viciously attacked a 22-year-old individual from Poole, inflicting multiple stab wounds.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that both Cameron and O’Rourke felt threatened by a rival faction. Their motive was to eliminate the victim to incriminate their adversaries. The victim sustained ten stab wounds to critical areas during the assault in February 2016.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford from Bournemouth CID expressed satisfaction with the court’s ruling, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance towards knife-related crimes. He commended the prompt action of bystanders who aided the victim and the medical personnel at Poole Hospital for their exemplary care.
