SportsPDC Clarifies Audience Composition at Saudi Arabia Darts Masters

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has responded to clarifications regarding the audience composition at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters following statements made by Nathan Aspinall suggesting otherwise.

The tournament commenced yesterday with notable players like Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries participating, alongside Aspinall, who also competed in the Middle East.

After his victory against Lourence Ilagan in the opening game, Aspinall shared his thoughts on the event’s ambiance, mentioning that it seemed unfamiliar and hinted that not all attendees were there voluntarily. He acknowledged the small venue but expressed optimism about the event’s potential growth.

In response to Aspinall’s remarks, the PDC stated that all spectators were enthusiastic attendees, emphasizing that this event marked a unique darts experience for many in the region. They acknowledged the distinct atmosphere compared to established darts events in the UK and Europe.

World champion Luke Littler also commented on the event, noting the quieter atmosphere compared to his usual experience. Despite the different setting, he managed to secure a win and highlighted the need for more energy in the environment.

The PDC expressed satisfaction with the strong interest shown by attendees at their debut in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that all spectators were ticket holders or guests.
