A new player in the TV market, Freely, has rapidly gained popularity since its launch in 2024. Offering over 50 live channels without the need for traditional aerial or dish setups, Freely has now introduced Freely Spotlight Channels, expanding its entertainment offerings at no extra cost.
These new channels, accessible via standard Wi-Fi connections, will occupy channel positions 31 and 90 to 99. Partnering with V (formerly VIDAA), the company behind the VIDAA OS smart TV platform found in Hisense TVs, Freely Spotlight Channels will provide a curated selection of content within the Freely TV Guide.
The addition of Freely Spotlight Channels aims to enhance the visibility and credibility of selected channels within the UK’s regulated TV landscape. While specific content details are yet to be disclosed, more information is anticipated closer to the launch date.
Chief Commercial Officer at Everyone TV, Deep Halder, expressed the platform’s commitment to delivering long-term value and creating new opportunities for partners. Partnering with established industry names like V underscores Freely’s dedication to offering free, high-quality TV content easily accessible to UK audiences in the digital age.
Unlike traditional TV platforms like Sky and Freeview, Freely, operated by the team behind Freeview and Freesat, delivers all content via broadband, eliminating the need for external hardware installations. Users only require a compatible TV or set-top box and a stable Wi-Fi connection to access Freely’s offerings, which include live channels, on-demand content, personalized recommendations, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live TV.
