Farage failed to promptly report income from secondary employment as required by parliamentary standards, resulting in £384,000 of his earnings being reported past the deadline.
This sum is part of the £1.6 million Nigel Farage has accumulated from his 15 secondary jobs since becoming an MP in July 2024, in addition to his annual MP salary of £93,904. His primary source of income is his role as a presenter for GP News, bringing in an estimated £664,000. Furthermore, he has earned £415,000 as an ambassador for Direct Bullion and £180,000 from the video messaging platform Cameo.
The recent Register of Members Financial Interests also sheds light on one of Rishi Sunak’s additional roles. Sunak, the former Prime Minister, has received 3,547 shares from his advisory position at AI firm Anthropic, valued at £373,000. These shares will be donated to the charity he co-founded, the Richmond Project, over the next year.
The charity will benefit from Sunak’s estimated 70 hours of work for Anthropic, equating to an hourly rate of approximately £5,300. With the shares spread out over the year, Sunak’s earnings from secondary jobs following the general election total over £1.0 million, positioning him as the second-highest earning MP in Parliament.
