Following the tragic death of Sonia Exelby, a comprehensive autopsy report has been disclosed. Sonia, a 32-year-old woman from Portsmouth, Hampshire, was discovered in a shallow grave in Marion County, Florida. She had traveled to the US and met Dwain Hall, 53, whom investigators suspect she had planned to meet for the purpose of being fatally harmed. The Marion County Medical Examiner conducted a thorough examination on October 18, revealing that Sonia had succumbed to stab wounds to her torso, leading to her death being classified as a homicide.
During the autopsy, it was found that Sonia’s body was covered in sandy dirt, with signs of tissue decomposition and discoloration on her skin. She had sustained four stab wounds to her torso, two on the left side of her chest, and two on her back. The wounds were estimated to be between four to seven inches deep. Additionally, the report mentioned a distinct abrasion on her neck and discolouration around her breasts.
Subsequent toxicology testing unveiled the presence of cannabinoids and a blood alcohol concentration of 0.064 in Sonia’s body. The examination revealed that a BAC in this range could cause lowered alertness and impaired judgment. Hall came under suspicion after attempting multiple bank transfers from Sonia’s account and providing conflicting statements during police interrogation.
Following Sonia’s recovery from the shallow grave, Hall was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping. His attorney stated that he pleaded not guilty and would maintain his silence on the allegations. The legal proceedings are set to continue, with Hall’s court appearance scheduled for the upcoming months.
