Virgin Media is introducing a major upgrade to its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels at no extra cost. The telecommunications giant has partnered with Rakuten to bring exciting drama, comedy, and sci-fi content to viewers’ living rooms via three Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on Channel 462, showcasing popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Additionally, Rakuten TV Comedy on Channel 463 features films such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled, providing viewers with a selection of beloved comedies. For sci-fi enthusiasts, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Channel 464 offers a variety of otherworldly content.
Virgin TV 360 and Flex subscribers will automatically receive these entertainment additions, which can be easily accessed through the Virgin Media TV guide and voice control search. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional content and value to its customers through these new streaming channels.
With this enhancement, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enriching their viewing experience with diverse content offerings. While Virgin Media TV requires a monthly subscription fee, the expanded channel lineup surpasses the offerings of free services, providing subscribers with a premium entertainment experience.
