“US Airstrikes Eliminate Al-Qaeda Operative Linked to ISIS Attack”

International"US Airstrikes Eliminate Al-Qaeda Operative Linked to ISIS Attack"

A prominent al-Qaeda operative was eliminated in US airstrikes in Syria following a deadly ISIS assault that claimed the lives of three American citizens. Bilal Hasan al-Jasim, believed to be a key figure behind the tragic attack, was identified as an “experienced terrorist leader” who posed a threat to the US, according to the Pentagon.

Adm. Brad Cooper, the commander of US Central Command, emphasized the commitment to pursuing individuals involved in attacks against American personnel. The strike, authorized by US Central Command on January 16, targeted and killed Al-Jasim, who had direct ties to the ISIS assailant responsible for the attack in Palmyra, Syria, on December 13.

In response to the December 13 incident, CENTCOM launched a significant operation named Hawkeye Strike, resulting in the destruction of over 100 ISIS infrastructure and weapon sites using more than 200 precise munitions. The operation also led to the detainment of over 300 ISIS members and the elimination of more than 20 individuals across Syria in the past year, enhancing US and regional security.

Furthermore, the Trump administration initiated military actions on December 19 in Syria to eradicate Islamic State militants and weapon installations. President Trump issued a stern warning via social media, stating that any terrorists targeting Americans would face severe consequences.

The recent military campaign in Syria signifies a shift in US focus towards the Western Hemisphere, including operations in Venezuela and the Caribbean. Resources have been reallocated from the Middle East to support these endeavors, with advanced military assets being deployed to South American waters in November. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth affirmed the administration’s commitment to defending the American people under President Trump’s leadership.
