“UK Polls: Labour Trails Behind Reform, Urgent Call for Starmer”

Politics"UK Polls: Labour Trails Behind Reform, Urgent Call for Starmer"

The public has issued a strong warning to Keir Starmer, emphasizing the need for him to address current issues. Exclusive Deltapoll research shows Labour at 20% in the polls, trailing behind Reform at 30% and the Tories at 19%. Despite coming into power last year and achieving milestones, Labour still faces challenges in gaining public support.

The Prime Minister has outlined plans for 2026 to bring about significant changes, including increased neighborhood policing, removal of the two-child benefit cap, a freeze on rail fares, and a planned reduction in energy bills. However, public sentiment towards the leadership remains negative, with the PM receiving a net score of -46. This sentiment is reflected across various voter groups, including 54% of former Labour voters. The upcoming crucial local elections in May, particularly in Scotland and Wales, are anticipated to have a significant impact on political dynamics.

Kemi Badenoch’s approval rating stands at -9, with a considerable percentage undecided about her performance. Despite Reform leading in the polls, Nigel Farage’s approval rating is at -4, with public trust in his party on various issues questioned.

Concerns about Reform UK’s trustworthiness are evident, with 42% distrusting the party on defense matters and 50% on economic issues. The party’s stance on mass deportation and education policies has also raised doubts among the public.

Joe Twyman, Co-founder and Director of Deltapoll, highlighted the challenges faced by the Labour government and Prime Minister Keir Starmer in 2025. While there is time before the next general election, efforts to improve public opinion are crucial for the government’s success. The evolving political landscape underscores the need for strategic changes to regain public trust and support.
