“Trump Warned of £500B Cost to Buy Greenland”

National"Trump Warned of £500B Cost to Buy Greenland"

President Trump has been informed that he might be required to pay up to £500 billion if he intends to purchase Greenland. This financial caution was issued by America’s Arctic commissioner, Thomas Dans, a key supporter of the President’s interest in Greenland. Dans mentioned that Trump remains committed to the idea of potentially acquiring Greenland.

Trump is eager to proceed swiftly with potential actions related to Greenland, possibly within weeks or months, as per a senior administration official. However, officials from Greenland expressed disbelief at the notion of the United States discussing taking over a NATO ally. They urged the Trump administration to heed the voices of the Arctic island’s people.

Reports indicate that the White House could face a bill as high as $700 billion to fulfill the President’s ambition, according to sources familiar with the cost estimate. NBC News revealed this staggering figure and suggested that the potential purchase is a tactic to pressure Greenland and Denmark into negotiations.

“I’d love to make a deal with them,” Trump remarked when asked about possible deals with Greenland. He emphasized the strategic significance of Greenland to prevent Russia or China from occupying the territory. Trump reiterated concerns about NATO’s effectiveness without the United States, emphasizing the crucial role the US plays in the alliance.

US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are scheduled to meet with Denmark and Greenland’s foreign ministers today at the White House to discuss Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland. Denmark reportedly plans to reinforce its military presence in Greenland amid escalating threats of a takeover by Trump.

Denmark is deploying advance units to Greenland to prepare for potential larger military forces from the Danish Army and other defense branches. These units are tasked with logistical preparations in anticipation of further reinforcements.
