The daughter of a cannibal has shared her feelings about her father, who was involved in a gruesome incident where he consumed his stepmother. Jamie-Lee Arrow described her childhood home as resembling a scene from a horror movie, reflecting on her upbringing with “The Skara Cannibal.”
In 2010, Jamie-Lee’s father, Isakin Drabbad, murdered his girlfriend, Helle Christensen, and engaged in acts of cannibalism. Following his conviction for murder, he was placed in a mental health facility in 2011 but later transitioned to outpatient status in 2020, receiving accommodation in his native Sweden.
Recalling the events leading up to the tragedy, Jamie-Lee revealed that her father and Helle initially appeared content, but their relationship deteriorated significantly. Helle even warned Jamie-Lee about Drabbad’s intentions to harm her. The tense environment escalated to a point where violence erupted between Helle and Drabbad, with Jamie-Lee and other children present.
Tragically, on November 12, 2010, Drabbad fatally attacked Helle, causing her death in a brutal manner involving dismemberment and cannibalistic acts. Jamie-Lee learned of the incident from her mother, initially questioning whether her father was responsible before eventually hearing the full details from him.
The heinous crime became infamous in Sweden, with Jamie-Lee’s experiences detailed in the documentary Evil Lives Here: The Killer Speaks. She revealed unsettling aspects of her upbringing, including her father’s fascination with dark themes and the occult, such as creating macabre “voodoo dolls” and discussing satanic beliefs.
Despite the traumatic past, Jamie-Lee expressed enduring love for her father, emphasizing the complexity of parent-child relationships. She emphasized that while she maintains love for him, she does not condone his actions or seek his presence in her life. Looking ahead, Jamie-Lee aims to shield her own children from darkness and provide them with love and security, ensuring they grow up surrounded by positivity and warmth.
