Teens Sentenced for Homeless Man’s Brutal Death

UpdatesTeens Sentenced for Homeless Man's Brutal Death

Three teenagers have been sentenced for the savage killing of a homeless man who was struck with a gin bottle following a hit-and-run incident. Eymaiyah Lee Bradshaw-McKoy, 18, Mia Campos-Jorge, 19, and Jaidee Bingham, 18, assaulted Anthony Marks, 51, leading to fatal brain bleeding. Bingham was convicted of murder after a 47-hour jury deliberation at the Old Bailey on October 30. Bradshaw-McKoy and Campos-Jorge were acquitted of murder but found guilty of manslaughter. Despite missed chances to save Marks, all three were held responsible for his death.

Today, judge Mark Dennis KC imposed a life sentence with a minimum term of 16 years for Bingham. Bradshaw-McKoy received a three-year and 11-month sentence, while Campos-Jorge was sentenced to three years and six months.

Detective Inspector Jim Barry, from the Met’s Specialist Crime North, who spearheaded the investigation, described the murder as a cold-blooded act revealing the ruthless nature of county lines gangs. Despite their young age, the teenagers’ violent actions in the drug trade brought terror to the streets of London.

The Metropolitan Police reported that Marks was struck with a car bonnet, chased down, stomped on, and beaten with a gin bottle in a brutal county lines retaliation attack. Staff at King’s Cross station discovered Marks with severe injuries, leading to his hospitalization on August 10, 2024.

Marks, who was already subject to recall to prison for breaching his release conditions, suffered critical brain bleeding from the attack. He recounted being assaulted in a dispute about stolen drugs outside a pub, linking the assailants to the drug trade.

Following his release from the hospital and return to prison, Marks experienced medical issues but was not promptly referred for additional scans. Subsequently, he suffered a seizure in his cell, leading to emergency surgery to remove a blood clot. Marks passed away on September 14 due to the brain bleeding caused by the violent assault.
