A woman who fled her home as a teenager has recently become engaged to a police officer who was involved in the search for her over a decade ago. Roshin Ali left her Jackson, Tennessee residence at the age of 13 due to fears for her safety, prompting officer Tyler Schrupp, then 26, to participate in the search efforts.
Although Roshin returned home the next day, ending the police search without Tyler meeting her at the time, their paths crossed again 12 years later when she joined the local sheriff’s department where Tyler worked. Initially, Tyler was captivated by Roshin’s presence but was too hesitant to engage with her, admiring her beauty from afar.
As they began conversing, a strong connection formed between them, leading Roshin to confide in Tyler about her past traumas. Upon learning about her experiences, Tyler realized his past involvement in the search for her. The couple’s bond deepened, ultimately culminating in an engagement last August, and they now have a five-month-old son together.
Roshin gained online attention after sharing a TikTok video playfully showcasing their differences as a couple. Responding to criticism alleging grooming, Roshin later detailed the harrowing incident that led to her fleeing home, involving threats and violence from her gambling-addict father.
Following the incident, police intervention led to her parents’ arrest, and Roshin and her siblings were placed in foster care. Reflecting on her journey, Roshin expressed gratitude for the officers’ involvement that ensured their safety. She regards Tyler as her hero and looks forward to their upcoming marriage next year.
