“Sainsbury’s integrates Chop Chop delivery into main app, simplifying shopping”

Business"Sainsbury's integrates Chop Chop delivery into main app, simplifying shopping"

Sainsbury’s has discontinued its Chop Chop rapid delivery app and integrated the service into its primary app. Launched in 2016, Chop Chop aimed to deliver groceries within 60 minutes or less, albeit at a premium cost, and was operational in 50 Sainsbury’s stores.

Regular users of Chop Chop may have observed that the standalone app has been removed, redirecting download attempts to the main Sainsbury’s app. Jim Banks, Sainsbury’s head of experience design, announced the decommissioning of the app to simplify the shopping experience for customers.

Banks expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort involved in merging Chop Chop into the Sainsbury’s app, emphasizing the move towards streamlining their ecosystem to enhance the shopping process. Chop Chop competed with Tesco’s Whoosh rapid delivery service, which promises deliveries in as little as 20 minutes.
