Updates"Russia Warns of Potential Air Strike on Kyiv Amid Rising Tensions"

Russia has dismissed a peace agreement involving Ukraine and labeled British soldiers as “legitimate military targets,” raising concerns about a potential significant air strike on Kyiv. The Kremlin rejected a new proposal by the US and Europe to offer security guarantees to Ukraine upon reaching a ceasefire, denouncing it as foreign intervention and a direct threat to Russian security.

In a related development, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron recently signed an agreement to establish military hubs in Ukraine in case of a deal to safeguard the country from further invasion. However, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Britain and its allies of planning to escalate militarization in Ukraine, warning that Western military presence in the country could become targets for Russian forces.

Zakharova emphasized that the deployment of foreign military units and infrastructure in Ukraine would be viewed as a threat to Russian and European security, making them legitimate military targets for the Russian Armed Forces. She criticized the 35-nation Coalition of the Willing, describing them as a war axis whose actions could have destructive consequences for Europe and its residents.

Furthermore, Zakharova stated that any resolution to the conflict in Ukraine would require the country to adopt a neutral stance, abandon NATO aspirations, and relinquish occupied territories. Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Kyiv issued a warning to its citizens about potential imminent aerial attacks on the Ukrainian capital, urging readiness to seek shelter upon hearing air raid sirens.
