Russia has issued a warning stating that any action approved by Donald Trump to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles could lead to a declaration of nuclear war against the United States and Britain by the Kremlin.
Recent intelligence indicates that the U.S. is gearing up to assist Kyiv with advanced targeting data for attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, while also urging NATO allies to do the same. In addition, there are considerations to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk and Barracuda missiles for deep penetrations into Russian territory as a response to Moscow rejecting peace efforts from Trump.
The identified targets would enable Ukraine to escalate its successful strikes on Russian oil facilities, pipelines, power plants, and other critical infrastructure in an effort to disrupt Vladimir Putin’s oil supplies and revenues.
Military expert Colonel Igor Korotchenko highlighted the significance of the Tomahawk missile, emphasizing its potential to spark a global conflict. He emphasized that launching such strikes from Ukrainian soil would likely involve U.S. or British military participation due to the weapon’s capabilities.
Korotchenko stressed that providing Ukraine with high-precision weapons like the Tomahawk could lead to severe consequences, prompting Russia to respond with its full range of conventional and nuclear arms to counter any perceived threat.
He urged immediate measures to prevent the transfer of Tomahawks, suggesting cutting off essential supplies to Ukraine to compel them to negotiate peace on Russia’s terms.
Addressing the deployment of Tomahawks, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov raised questions about who would be responsible for launching and directing these missiles, emphasizing the need for a thorough assessment of the situation.
The shift in Trump’s stance on intelligence is a notable departure from his previous approach and seems to be driven by Putin’s reluctance to end the conflict and engage in peace talks with Ukraine. Concurrently, Russia launched fresh extensive attacks, targeting various locations in Ukraine, resulting in significant damage and casualties.
The ongoing assaults on Ukrainian territories demonstrate Russia’s relentless efforts to destabilize the country by targeting key infrastructure elements crucial for Ukraine’s stability. Ukrainian officials, such as Oleksiy Kuleba, have condemned these attacks, attributing them to Russia’s reliance on foreign components for its weaponry and advocating for stronger sanctions and supply chain blockades in response.
