“Man Found Dead After Dog Attack: American Bulldog Suspected”

International"Man Found Dead After Dog Attack: American Bulldog Suspected"

A man was discovered deceased beside a road after a severe attack by his own pet dog during a walk. The 33-year-old victim was found lifeless in a ditch in Lohne, Germany, last Thursday, with his dog remaining by his side despite medical assistance arriving. The dog, identified as an American Bulldog, inflicted injuries consistent with a dog attack, leading investigators to suspect the dog was responsible for the man’s death.

Following the incident, the dog was taken into custody for evaluation at an animal shelter. The emergency response to aid the man was hindered by the dog’s protective behavior. Dog expert Vanessa Bokr suggested that the dog may have attacked its owner when prevented from chasing something, emphasizing the importance of clear social dynamics to prevent such escalations.

American Bulldogs, a breed distinct from the banned XL Bully in the UK, have been associated with fatal attacks in various countries. In a recent tragedy in the US, a toddler was fatally attacked by an American Bulldog after entering the dog’s enclosure at his grandmother’s house. The grandmother also sustained injuries while trying to intervene, leading to the dog being euthanized at the family’s request.

Another incident in the UK involved a baby needing urgent surgery after being bitten by the family’s American Bulldog in Doncaster. The one-year-old suffered severe facial injuries and had reportedly displayed aggression towards the baby before. The dog is currently in a kennel awaiting further evaluations as the investigation continues.
