Confirmation has been made regarding a magnitude 6 earthquake that occurred in the state of Oregon, USA.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the earthquake took place at 7:25 pm local time on Thursday, January 15, approximately 183 miles away from Bandon, Oregon.

Residents living along the Oregon coastline reported experiencing tremors, although there have been no reports of significant structural damage.

According to the USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was identified to be 295 km west of Bandon, Oregon, with a depth of around 10 km beneath the earth’s surface.

As of now, the USGS has not issued any tsunami warnings in relation to this event.

The USGS has indicated a possibility of aftershocks being felt in the region over the next week.

Following the earthquake confirmation, residents of Oregon have been sharing their experiences on social media platforms.

While some individuals, like a user located at the base of the Cascades near Kings County and Mount Rainier National Park, did not perceive any shaking, others from Newberg and Eugene in Oregon reported feeling the tremor.
