Nicola Golen’s goal two minutes into extra time secured a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto at TD Place on Sunday. The league-leading Rapid earned a valuable point with Golen’s equalizer in the 92nd minute. Melanie Forbes also contributed a goal for Ottawa (10-2-3) in the 13th minute.
Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky found the net for third-place Toronto (7-4-4). The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto.
Furthermore, TD Place in Ottawa was revealed as the host venue for the Northern Super League final scheduled for November 14.
