NationalFlorida Physician Arrested for Alleged £2,000 Supermarket Theft

A physician was apprehended following an alleged theft of goods valued at £2,000 from a supermarket. Lindsey Jae Minshew, aged 40, was arrested in connection with the incident at a Target store in Jacksonville, Florida, on the previous Friday. The arrest stemmed from a store employee’s report that a female suspect had taken merchandise worth “$2,716.61 [£1,960],” as detailed in an official report.

Minshew has been a licensed medical practitioner in Florida since 2012, as per records from the state’s Department of Health. The specific items purportedly pilfered from the supermarket were not disclosed by authorities.

Upon receiving the store worker’s complaint, law enforcement identified a black Porsche 911 associated with Minshew’s license plate, observed arriving at the store approximately 30 minutes before the theft occurred. Minshew later reported the vehicle missing a few days following the incident.

The physician was formally processed at the Duval County Jail on January 23, 2026, and charged with grand theft ranging between $750 and $4,999. She was subsequently released from detention the next day.

Minshew’s professional profile on the Florida Department of Health website indicates her affiliation as a medical staff member at the University of Miami hospital and holds a medical license in Pennsylvania. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, followed by studies at the University of Utah School of Medicine and further specialization in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Her online profile presently states no disclosed criminal infractions “required to be published.” Commencing practice in 2012, her medical license is valid until 2027. In Florida, healthcare practitioners risk license suspension or revocation upon conviction of a criminal offense.
