“Fake Traffic Lawyer Jailed for Fatal Crash Cover-Up”

Updates"Fake Traffic Lawyer Jailed for Fatal Crash Cover-Up"

A heartless individual pretending to be a traffic lawyer on social media has been sentenced to jail for causing the death of a senior citizen in a tragic car accident.

Leigh Sutherland was driving above the speed limit in an old Ford Mondeo with faulty brakes when the collision occurred on Condorrat Ring Road in Lanarkshire, Scotland. The crash involved a Peugeot 108 driven by Margaret Allan, a 77-year-old woman who later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Another young passenger was also injured in the incident.

Despite the severity of the crash, Sutherland callously attempted to shift blame onto the elderly victim, claiming that the accident wouldn’t have happened if she had not pulled out. Following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow, Sutherland was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and subsequently sentenced to nine years in prison. Additionally, he received a driving ban exceeding 13 years.

Prior to the accident, Sutherland had gained attention on TikTok for his peculiar videos where he masqueraded as a defense attorney, impersonated a police officer, and reviewed supermarket products, as reported by the DailyRecord.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the Mondeo’s anti-lock braking system was malfunctioning and the vehicle’s battery was insecure. Witnesses in the area noted that Sutherland was driving at least 44mph in a 40mph zone before the collision, with some indicating he may have been traveling even faster. Prosecutors emphasized that Sutherland’s actions were not merely a lapse in judgment but a display of dangerous driving behavior.

Described as driving excessively fast in a defective car, Sutherland, originally from Cumbernauld but residing in Newcastle at the time, was initially granted bail but later remanded in custody by Judge Tom Hughes. The sentencing was postponed for further assessments and reports.
