Co-op plans to unveil 11 new stores this week, covering various locations from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands. Notably, the Co-op will be the first permanent retailer at the new Brent Cross Town development in London.
These new store openings include a mix of brand-new stores, franchise-operated locations, and revamped establishments. This initiative is part of the retailer’s broader strategy to invest in over 200 new and upgraded stores by 2024/25.
This announcement is part of the previously confirmed plan by Co-op to open 50 new stores in November and December, just in time for the holiday season. The retailer is urging the Government to implement business rates reform in the upcoming Budget session.
Kate McCrae, Co-op Operations Director, emphasized the importance of local stores as community hubs that cater to the needs of residents while contributing to the local economy. She highlighted the retailer’s commitment to supporting British suppliers and creating job opportunities across the UK.
In a bid to enhance customer benefits, Co-op has introduced 200 new personalized offers, increased discounts, and exclusive deals for its members. By participating in the membership scheme, shoppers have the opportunity to save up to £90 throughout October, November, and December.
