Cheshire Police are currently in pursuit of a man who escaped from prison while serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder. Kieran Cameron, convicted for an attempted murder in Dorset back in 2016, disappeared from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington. Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating Cameron, urging individuals not to approach him but to contact emergency services immediately if spotted.
Cameron, along with accomplice Michael O’Rourke, was involved in a violent incident where they attacked a 22-year-old man from Poole, inflicting multiple stab wounds. The court revealed that their actions were motivated by threats from a rival gang, aiming to shift blame onto their adversaries by targeting the victim. The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack, emphasizing the severity of knife-related crimes.
After his recent escape, Cheshire Police provided a description of Cameron, detailing him as a white male of medium build with distinctive features. The police highlighted his connections to Manchester, Liverpool, and Dorset, underscoring the importance of locating him promptly. Detective Chief Inspector Nick Henderson emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging the public to report any sightings or information that could lead to Cameron’s capture.
A spokesperson from the Prison Service emphasized the seriousness of absconding from custody, noting the legal consequences for offenders. Authorities are actively working to apprehend Cameron, seeking cooperation from the public in ensuring his swift recapture.
