“Freeview Users Urged to Retune Devices for Channel Updates”

Tech"Freeview Users Urged to Retune Devices for Channel Updates"

Freeview users are advised to promptly check their settings and retune their devices following a recent update rollout by the UK TV platform. The update introduces several changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has announced that some broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.

Among the notable changes are four rebrands. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed to That’s 20th Century, showcasing music from previous decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.

In addition to these rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment will be available on Channel 75. Although program listings for this new service are currently limited, more details are expected to be released soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing adjustments by broadcasters to ensure diverse and updated content offerings.

Freeview users can expect to see these changes reflected in the TV planner. If the updates do not appear, a retune can be performed by following these steps:
– Press the menu button on the remote
– Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option
– Enter the PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000)
– Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels
– The device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.

While Freeview regularly undergoes updates, the recent changes are considered significant, prompting users to retune their devices promptly.
