Newly disclosed emails have shed light on the relationship between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and former Prince Andrew, with the royal’s biographer describing them as a decisive revelation. Following his association with the disgraced financier, Andrew was stripped of his royal titles by King Charles, as Buckingham Palace issued a strong statement in support of abuse survivors.
In response to the public uproar surrounding Andrew’s ties to Epstein, he has agreed to relinquish his long-standing residence at Royal Lodge, where he had been paying a nominal rent to the Crown Estate for over two decades. The 30-room mansion drew attention as allegations of sexual assault made by Andrew’s accuser, Virginia Giuffre, resurfaced with the impending release of her memoir. Andrew has consistently denied all accusations leveled against him.
Reports suggest that Andrew has been offered a luxurious residence in Abu Dhabi if he opts to depart from the UK, a move reminiscent of another scandal-ridden royal, King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Currently, Andrew is expected to relocate to a property within King Charles’s expansive Norfolk estate at Sandringham.
Renowned biographer Andrew Lownie, author of ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,’ remarked that the newly disclosed Epstein emails expose Andrew’s falsehoods regarding his relationship with Epstein. Despite Andrew’s claim of severing ties with Epstein in 2010, the emails reveal ongoing communication between the two, including Epstein confirming a photograph with Giuffre.
Lownie emphasized that the latest revelations are damning for Prince Andrew and suggest deeper involvement with the convicted felon. He suggested that Andrew should be considered a flight risk and have his passport confiscated to ensure accountability.
Amidst speculations, sources indicate that an offer of a new residence in Abu Dhabi has been extended to Andrew by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in recognition of Andrew’s past role as a trade envoy to the UK. Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment on the matter.
