“Sky Q Welcomes U App for Free On-Demand Content”

Tech"Sky Q Welcomes U App for Free On-Demand Content"

Sky has recently announced a new addition to its lineup for Sky Q users. While much attention has been on the latest streaming devices like Glass and Stream, Sky Q customers need not worry about being left out. The popular boxes are receiving a major boost with the introduction of the U app.

Originally available on Sky Glass and Stream, the U app brings free access to various on-demand services such as U&Dave, U&DRAMA, U&W, U&YESTERDAY, and U&Eden. Now, after a long wait, the U app is finally making its way to Sky Q.

With the U app on Sky Q, users can enjoy a wide range of shows including The Marlow Murder Club, Outrageous, Bergerac, Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, The Chelsea Detective, Ladies in Black, and The Count of Monte Cristo. The app also offers search functionality for easy show discovery and specific categories to cater to individual preferences.

Additionally, there is a Watchlists feature where users can save content to watch later. For those unfamiliar, U is the rebranded version of UKTV, which underwent a significant makeover last year to align with channels like Dave, Yesterday, and Drama.

Sky Q customers can access the U app without the need for any updates or restarts. Managing Director of UKTV, Sam Tewungwa, expressed delight in expanding the reach of U to more Sky homes through the Sky Q platform. Jon Simkin, Managing Director of Content Partnerships at Sky, highlighted the enhanced partnership with UKTV and the added flexibility it brings to customers for enjoying great TV content on Sky.

If you are a Sky Q user, the U app should be available now for seamless viewing experience.
