Sky Sports subscribers are in for a treat as F1’s latest season kicks off with George Russell’s win in Melbourne. Throughout 2026, viewers can expect an enhanced experience, thanks to Sky’s upcoming TV upgrade, set to roll out soon.
The new features will bring an interactive twist to the viewing experience, with a smart sidebar offering access to Race Control and Recap during race weekends. Fans can easily re-watch thrilling overtakes and key moments, as well as stay updated on live in-race standings.
Moreover, the update will introduce dedicated driver and team pages, granting viewers access to onboard cameras, enhanced race data, and improved navigation on the homepage.
The upgrade will be available at no extra cost to Sky Sports subscribers using Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q devices. Although an exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to be introduced later in the season.
In addition to the F1 enhancements, Sky has unveiled an Ultimate TV subscription plan, priced at £24 per month. This package includes popular streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, offering a combined value of around £20 in streaming services.
For Formula 1 enthusiasts, Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle provides access to every practice, qualifier, and race live, with an introductory deal saving subscribers £336. This bundle also includes over 100 TV channels and complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
“New for 2026, fans can look forward to even more flexibility and choice with a new immersive sidebar for TV viewing during race weekends,” Sky stated in an email to Express.co.uk.
With these exciting updates and offerings, Sky is set to revolutionize the way viewers enjoy sports and entertainment content.
