Apple has had a dynamic week, unveiling a range of new products, including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models featuring the latest M5 processors. Now, the company has introduced the much-anticipated MacBook Neo, offering a vibrant design, impressive performance, and a high-resolution 13-inch screen priced at just £599.
Compared to the latest MacBook Air also launched this week, the MacBook Neo comes at a significantly lower price point of £500 less.
Powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, the MacBook Neo may not match the speed of M-powered PCs but is fully capable of meeting everyday digital demands. Running macOS, the device provides access to essential applications like Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
With a battery life of over 15 hours, the MacBook Neo is highly efficient. It includes two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging.
Additional features comprise a 1080p FaceTime HD camera for video calls, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, a Magic Keyboard, Multi-Touch trackpad, and color options such as Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus.
The MacBook Neo is now open for pre-orders and will hit stores next week.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed enthusiasm about the MacBook Neo, emphasizing its affordability and unique features tailored for a wider audience. He highlighted the laptop’s aluminum design, Liquid Retina display, Apple silicon performance, long battery life, high-quality components, and macOS capabilities, emphasizing its distinction in the market.
