International"Double Amputee Hari Budha Magar Conquers Seven Summits"

Hari Budha Magar, a hero of the Pride of Britain awards, has achieved a groundbreaking feat as the first double amputee to conquer the Seven Summits challenge, scaling the highest peak on each continent worldwide.

The former Gurkha, who lost his legs in a tragic incident in Afghanistan in 2010, defied all odds by reaching the summit of Mount Vinson in Antarctica on January 7th. Equipped with specially designed prosthetic legs tailored for snow and ice conditions, he ascended 4892m and planted a Mirror flag to mark his triumph.

Reflecting on his remarkable achievement, Hari expressed overwhelming emotions, stating, “It’s just an amazing feeling. I don’t know how we did it – but the Seven Summits are complete. As someone with a disability, I have done the impossible and climbed them all. I feel very emotional.”

Driven by a desire to overcome his darkest moments, Hari undertook the challenging expedition to raise funds for five charitable organizations, generating over £884,900. His journey, which symbolizes resilience and determination, sends a powerful message of hope and possibility to individuals facing similar adversities.

The Seven Summits challenge, renowned as the pinnacle of mountaineering accomplishments, entails conquering iconic peaks like Mount Everest in Nepal, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and Denali in Alaska. Hari’s conquest of these peaks, including the formidable Vinson Massif in Antarctica, has been recognized by Guinness World Records.

Facing treacherous conditions and physical hardships during the Vinson climb, Hari battled through doubt and pain, pushing himself to the limits. Despite the grueling ordeal, the breathtaking view from the summit offered a sense of awe and serenity, making the arduous journey worthwhile.

Born in Nepal and later serving in the British Army, Hari’s life took a drastic turn following the life-altering incident in Afghanistan. However, his resilience and passion for adventure led him to new heights, culminating in his historic achievement of completing the Seven Summits challenge.

Looking ahead, Hari remains committed to inspiring others to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams. His upcoming book, detailing his extraordinary journey, aims to inspire and uplift individuals worldwide, spreading a message of courage and determination.
