“Two Women Found Dead in Victoria’s Alpine Hiking Area”

Updates"Two Women Found Dead in Victoria's Alpine Hiking Area"

Hikers in an isolated area in Australia’s alpine region of Victoria made a grim discovery of two deceased women. The hikers found the bodies near Lendenfeld Point and promptly notified authorities around 1pm local time.

Upon receiving the alert, Search and Rescue Squad and Air Wing officers swiftly responded to the scene for investigation. The women’s identities, believed to be in their 20s or 30s, remain unknown at this point. However, Victoria Police stated that the deaths do not seem suspicious and could be related to hiking activities, as the remains were found near the Cleve Cole Hut camping area.

The highlands of Victoria attract many visitors for hiking and skiing during the Southern Hemisphere’s winter season. The area boasts scenic hiking trails through forests and high plains with stunning views of the Victorian Alps.

Authorities are seeking information from the public to identify the deceased individuals, as there are no current missing person reports. Due to the remote location and conditions, police will be camping overnight at the site.

The bodies are scheduled for removal the following day, and authorities clarified that the women’s deaths are not linked to the pursuit of Dezi Freeman, a suspect sought for the shooting of two police officers during a warrant execution related to sex abuse allegations.

Inquiries for comments have been made to Victoria Police by The Mirror.
