“Ryan Garcia Skeptical of Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua Fight”

Sports"Ryan Garcia Skeptical of Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua Fight"

Ryan Garcia casts doubt on the likelihood of Jake Paul’s upcoming heavyweight fight against Anthony Joshua. The anticipated bout, scheduled for December 19 in Miami, will feature eight three-minute rounds with both fighters using 10oz gloves. Paul, who last fought in a decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June, had to cancel a recent match against Gervonta Davis due to legal issues faced by his opponent. On the other hand, Joshua has been inactive since suffering a knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Despite their upcoming clash, Garcia expressed skepticism about the fight proceeding, citing the significant size difference between the two fighters.

The showdown between Joshua and Paul is set to be live-streamed on Netflix on December 19. Following Garcia’s reservations, Paul responded with criticism, questioning Garcia’s recent fights and achievements. Paul had previously targeted Garcia for a match after his fight with Davis was called off. However, DAZN, a streaming service, declined the opportunity for Garcia to switch platforms, citing existing agreements with Matchroom and implying concerns about the potential outcomes of fights involving Paul and Garcia.

The event in Miami is scheduled close to Christmas, with the fight likely to commence around 11 pm local time, corresponding to 4 am in the UK. Fight timings are usually adjusted for the American audience and are subject to change based on the undercard duration. The fight is expected to be broadcast live on Netflix.
