“Father Deceitfully Sentenced to 65 Years for Son’s Murder”

International"Father Deceitfully Sentenced to 65 Years for Son's Murder"

A man convicted of brutally killing his six-year-old son resorted to deceit in an attempt to conceal his heinous act. Franklin Elmore Jr., 29, has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for the murder of his defenseless child. Despite pleading for leniency during sentencing, the judge remained unmoved, unequivocally stating, “You literally beat your son to death.”

Initially, Elmore tried to shift blame by asserting that his son, Justin Elmore, had caused his own fatal injuries. However, this fabricated story quickly unraveled. Both Elmore and his wife, Cheyenne Elmore, 27, were charged with murder. While Cheyenne initially denied the charges, she later changed her plea to guilty. She is set to be sentenced on January 13.

On the night of August 3, 2025, the Elmores, residents of Louisiana, US, contacted emergency services to report that Justin was unresponsive. The child was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, including a traumatic brain bleed and a punctured lung.

Elmore callously insisted that Justin had inflicted harm upon himself and had behavioral issues. However, medical personnel disputed this claim, asserting that the injuries were not self-inflicted. Justin tragically passed away at the hospital, leading to the arrest of the Elmores on August 8.

Further investigations revealed the extent of Justin’s suffering, with neighbors attesting to witnessing extreme punishment meted out to the child by the Elmores. This included rigorous exercises such as jumping rope, weight-holding, and running.

Prosecutors disclosed that on the day Justin was admitted to the hospital, he was coerced by his parents to run 3.5 miles for approximately 90 minutes before being fatally beaten in his playroom.

Elmore reached a plea agreement with prosecutors just before his trial commencement. During the plea hearing, he acknowledged his guilt, admitting to causing Justin’s death through physical abuse. He expressed remorse, acknowledging that his actions were not in line with acceptable parenting practices.

Justin’s biological mother, Miranda McBride, expressed satisfaction with Elmore’s sentencing outcome. She had previously attempted to raise concerns about her son’s treatment to authorities in Indiana while residing in another state but was reportedly dismissed due to lack of visible bruises. Subsequent examination of the Elmores’ phones uncovered incriminating photos showing Justin with bruises and other injuries.

Elmore received a sentence of 55 years, with an additional 10 years for aggravated offenses. His wife’s sentencing is scheduled for this month.
