“Newly Released Documents Shed Light on Jeffrey Epstein’s Final Days”

Politics"Newly Released Documents Shed Light on Jeffrey Epstein's Final Days"

Jeffrey Epstein’s final days were filled with fear and distress while in his prison cell, according to recent revelations. Following an initial failed suicide attempt, the convicted sex offender expressed apprehension about returning to his cell, as indicated in newly disclosed Department of Justice documents. Epstein, aged 66, ultimately took his own life in the Special Housing Unit (SHU) at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019.

The newly released documents from the DoJ have raised fresh doubts about the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death. Despite his brother Mark alerting the FBI with suspicions of foul play, further investigations confirmed that Epstein’s demise was a result of suicide by hanging.

In psychiatric records dated two weeks before his death, Epstein appeared despondent and drew parallels between himself and Dustin Hoffman’s character in the movie “Rain Man.” It was revealed that Epstein had previously attempted suicide on July 23, 2019. According to a psychologist’s assessment, Epstein mentioned waking up with staff around him after experiencing an episode in his cell, which he couldn’t recall due to lack of sleep caused by noise disturbances in the SHU.

The evaluator noted Epstein’s anxiety about returning to the SHU due to the unexplained marks on his neck, which had caused distress. Medical records showed treatment for marks on his neck and knee. Nicholas Tartaglione, Epstein’s former cellmate, attempted to revive him during the incident but was later cleared of any wrongdoing and transferred out of the cell before Epstein’s death.

Despite Mark Epstein’s online tip to the FBI in February 2023 suggesting possible foul play in his brother’s death, investigations did not find any evidence supporting the murder theory. The release of these extensive files follows public demands for transparency in the US government’s handling of the Epstein case.
