“Sugar Sculpture of Tower Bridge Unveiled for Kellogg’s Exhibition”

Art"Sugar Sculpture of Tower Bridge Unveiled for Kellogg's Exhibition"

A massive sugar sculpture resembling London’s famous Tower Bridge has been unveiled, showcasing intricate details and craftsmanship. Constructed using over 25kg of sugar, equivalent to almost 100,000 calories, the replica stands nearly two-and-a-half feet tall and took more than 150 hours to complete.

Renowned artist Michelle Wibowo meticulously designed the sculpture, incorporating features like the two towers and the walkway, after studying the bridge’s architecture. The artwork includes meticulously crafted windows, doors, and suspension rods, capturing the essence of the iconic landmark.

Commissioned by Kellogg’s for the ‘Reductive Art Exhibition – a story of salt and sugar,’ the sculpture highlights the company’s efforts in reducing salt and sugar content in its cereals by 18% and 23% respectively over the past decade. Wibowo expressed excitement about creating a piece entirely from sugar for the exhibition, emphasizing the research and attention to detail put into the Tower Bridge design.

The exhibition, scheduled to open in London and Paris on September 8th and 9th at gallery@oxo, will feature a unique collection of sugar and salt sculptures, sketches, and animations. Artists like Quentin Devine, Gala Bell, Bashir Sultani, and Tim Simpson have contributed to this exceptional showcase, reflecting a commitment to promoting healthier breakfast choices.

Kellogg’s spokesperson highlighted the brand’s dedication to enhancing recipes and reducing salt and sugar content without compromising taste. The exhibition serves as a visual representation of these efforts, aiming to encourage consumers to make informed and healthier breakfast decisions.

The event promises an exclusive experience for visitors to appreciate the artistry and creativity behind salt and sugar sculptures, offering a limited-time opportunity to explore these unique creations by talented artists.
