Tonight, prominent Black figures in Britain, including celebrities, industry leaders, and businesspeople, will come together for the prestigious Powerlist 2025 awards ceremony. The event aims to recognize and celebrate the achievements of influential Black Britons.

The Powerlist, an annual ranking of the most impactful Black individuals in the UK, has previously honored notable figures like Sir Lewis Hamilton and Malorie Blackman for their positive contributions to society. Launched in 2005, the Powerlist highlights role models and trailblazers across various sectors such as arts, technology, and entertainment.

Esteemed guests expected at the event include Rudolph Walker from Eastenders, Oti Mabuse from Strictly Come Dancing, Dame Denise Lewis, and Sir Lenny Henry. The Powerlist Celebration of Black Excellence Awards, hosted by Tim Campbell, MBE, will take place at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Dean Forbes, the CEO of tech company Forterro, has been recognized as this year’s most influential Black person. Forterro specializes in providing software solutions for industrial businesses, and Dean Forbes is also actively involved in philanthropy through organizations like the Forbes Family Group.

Expressing his gratitude for the honor, Dean Forbes emphasized the importance of resilience and community support in his journey from a humble background in southeast London to leading global businesses. He aspires to inspire young people from similar backgrounds to pursue their dreams and is dedicated to providing opportunities for those in need of support.

New additions to this year’s Powerlist include Andrew ‘Rapman’ Onwubolu, creator of Netflix’s Supacell, and Damson Idris from the crime drama Snowfall. The event, sponsored by JP Morgan, will be hosted by Tim Campbell MBE and feature prominent figures like Idris Elba, Alex Scott, and Stormzy.

Michael Eboda, CEO of Powerful Media, commended Dean Forbes for his community contributions, highlighting his exceptional efforts in supporting charitable causes through the Forbes Family Group Foundation. JPMorganChase executives expressed their pride in supporting initiatives that promote diversity and recognize Black excellence in the UK.

The Powerlist continues to be a platform for celebrating the outstanding achievements of Black individuals, showcasing talent and breaking barriers across various industries.
