Pittsburgh Penguins player Ben Kindel underwent a medical evaluation at a hospital in Salt Lake City following a health emergency during the team’s return flight from a four-game road trip. The 19-year-old forward, hailing from Coquitlam, B.C., experienced an undisclosed medical incident shortly after the team’s departure from the Salt Lake City airport on Tuesday. The aircraft promptly returned to the airport to provide medical assistance to Kindel by the team’s medical personnel before he was transported by ambulance to the University of Utah hospital. The Penguins reported that Kindel was conscious, responsive, and in stable condition. Kindel, currently in his second season with the Penguins after being drafted 11th overall in 2025, has recorded two goals and two assists in nine games. Notably, he played 18 minutes and 53 seconds in a recent game against Utah, which resulted in a 5-4 defeat.
