A young boy from Calgary who was rescued from a river in British Columbia is currently hospitalized and undergoing recovery, with significant lung damage reported by his family. Paul-Angelo Warren, aged nine, was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby on August 3 when he failed to resurface after diving underwater. Maria Warren, his mother, mentioned that bystanders quickly acted to assist, pulling him out of the water shortly after he went missing.
According to an official statement from the RCMP, the boy was trapped against fallen trees by the river’s strong current before being rescued and administered CPR upon reaching the shore. Authorities estimate that he might have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Presently, the child is receiving care at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Maria emphasized her constant presence by his side, expressing her desire for him to see her and hear her voice immediately upon waking up.
